There really should be a law against introducing a new character or device late in a novel, and in particular, a mystery, that resolves the whole thing, but that exactly what the prolific Michele Abramoff has chosen to do.
Anyway at 70%, a new character pops up out of nowhere, and by 80% all is tidily resolved.
The only multidimensional character developed in the book fades into obscurity halfway through, making only a cameo appearance at the end. The rest of the cast seems made of cardboard.
The detail surrounding the red herring trip to Paris could use some work too.
it kept me interested. was an easy read. would recommend it to someone who has a fairly good knowledge of the French language.
A basic book if you want to improve your French. Otherwise, a boring crime novel with predictable outcome.
Not exciting !
This book was a disappointment. I had expcted a fast-moving story with an exciting plot.The descriptions of the main characters should have been elaborated more.They are described in a superficial way. When reading the book, I didn't get the feeling of knowing the main characters intimately [unlike other crime novels I've read].Dispite all this, I think it is a good thing that there are French-language books available at . Because I am a resident in Norway, I am not allowed to buy a device from .fr (in France).The vast majority of French-language books being published each year, are not available in 's .
Diappointing. Thin plot and forgettable characters. At the end of the book I didn't much care who the murderer was and was just happy to be done with it all.

Much time was spent in developing a principal character in the story who is then dismissed as of no relevance. It is as if the author has changed her mind about the storyline or outcome of the plot in the middle of finally polishing it! That is unacceptable.
